The Science of Self Certification is a structured, multi-cycle training designed to develop embodied therapeutic competence through safety-led, nervous-system-informed practice. The programme prioritises presence, regulation, and self-inquiry before technique, ensuring practitioners work from attunement rather than force.
Level One focuses on foundations: establishing internal and relational safety, developing awareness of sensation, and learning objective observation without interpretation. Participants engage in disciplined self-inquiry, practise core skills in dyads and triads, and begin embodying practitioner qualities such as neutrality, pacing, and restraint. This stage builds the internal conditions required for ethical and effective work.
Level Two develops skill application. Participants learn to work with emotional signals, attachment adaptations, and protective strategies while maintaining structure and safety. SOS inquiry maps are applied in peer and client sessions, supported by case study documentation, recorded session review, and ongoing competency assessment.
Level Three emphasises integration and mastery. Participants demonstrate fluid use of skills, discernment in intervention, and professional readiness. Focus shifts from technique to timing, adaptability, and ethical maturity. The programme concludes with practicum, peer consultation, full competency review, and commitment to professional standards.
Across all levels, learning is experiential, supervised, and competency-based, ensuring graduates can practise with clarity, safety, and clinical responsibility.

Level One (First Cycle): Presence, Safety & Self-Inquiry

Purpose:
To establish safety as the primary condition for healing, develop embodied self-awareness, and begin disciplined self-inquiry before working with others.
Participants will:
1.Establish internal safety through presence, pacing, and nervous system awareness
2.Learn why force collapses safety and why safety governs all therapeutic work
3.Develop embodied attention to sensation as primary data
4.Learn to distinguish sensation from story, thought, and interpretation
5.Practise objective observation without analysis, fixing, or self-reference
6.Become familiar with SOS core maps, language, and inquiry structure
7.Learn practitioner qualities taught across the programme (presence, neutrality, attunement, restraint)

10.Process personal material arising from coursework with peers and personal therapist

4.Identify attachment patterns and protective strategies as adaptive responses

7.Record a session as practitioner for structured feedback
8.Strengthen pacing, containment, and boundary awareness

Practicum
Purpose:
To integrate the SOS methodology at a professional level and demonstrate embodied competence rather than technical performance.
Participants will:

3.Complete full case study requirements with peers and clients
4.Show discernment in when not to intervene
5.Participate in advanced workshops and peer consultation

Terms to Remember
Online Facilitated Bi-Weekly Group
A live online group of up to forty participants+ led by one facilitator. Sessions run every two weeks for 90 minutes at a fixed time. You select your group schedule at registration and remain with that group for continuity and safety.
Pod
A smaller peer group of approximately six participants formed from within your bi-weekly group. Pods provide a stable learning container and are used to organise ongoing practice.
Dyad / Triad
A practice group of two or three participants drawn from your pod. Dyads and triads meet weekly at a flexible time you arrange together. These sessions are used to practise SOS skills, self-inquiry, and practitioner presence in a contained setting.
