What is Science of Self Facilitator Certification Training?

The Science of Self six‑month facilitation training is a 300‑hour psychotherapy and somatic embodiment certification, designed to help you safely and confidently lead trauma‑informed group and therapeutic containers—both in person and online.

Phase 1 – Personal Foundations

Begin with an immersive growth journey: deepen self-awareness, explore relational and autonomic patterns, and anchor your leadership in embodied presence.

Phase 2 – Clinical Practice (One-to-One)

Refine therapeutic skills for individual sessions—compassionate inquiry, somatic tracking, nervous system regulation, trauma‑aware ethics and consent.

Phase 3 – Relational Facilitation (Groups & Retreats)

Develop mastery in creating safety and group cohesion. Learn containment, rupture/repair, container design, and safe embodiment work in group settings. As a bonus, you will learn how to setup your business, build your offers, sales funnels and marketing processes.

At the end of the six months, participants who complete the training and requirements will earn a 300-hour certification in facilitation and psychotherapy practice.

Beyond gaining the skills to confidently guide trauma-informed groups, retreats, and one-to-one sessions, this journey is also a chance for deep personal growth and professional enrichment within a supportive community of peers.

Murray Ash BSc (Sons) CI is a British-born psychotherapist, author, and educator specialising in trauma, behavioural patterns, purpose, and the relationship between the nervous system and human connection. His work integrates formal academic training with twenty years of global experiential study.

He studied Psychology and Sociology at A-Level before completing a BSc (Hons) at Staffordshire University. He later undertook sixteen years of mentorship under clinical hypnotherapist L. Traub, followed by advanced professional training in Compassionate Inquiry under Dr Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam Kaur, earning full accreditation and mentorship certifications. Murray also trained in Somatic Experiencing–informed methods (Peter Levine), IFS-informed parts work (Schwartz), and additional modalities within communication, attachment, and non-verbal behaviour, including a five-year immersion under a New York communications educator J. Maldonado.

Alongside his clinical education, he has spent two decades travelling across more than fifty countries, learning directly from teachers, communities, and cultural traditions that shaped his understanding of human behaviour, relational dynamics, and emotional healing.

Murray is the founder of The Science of Self, a therapeutic framework that blends clinical psychotherapy, somatic practice, and purpose-driven personal development. He teaches this work through one-to-one therapy, retreats, online courses, and educates facilitators through his formal Six-Month Facilitator and Mentorship Certifications designed to train practitioners, guides, and group leaders in his methodology.

His approach is grounded, relational, physiologically informed, and built on the understanding that everyone can learn to explore their inner-world, transform their patterns, and live in alignment with their authentic purpose.

Donovan R

Murray's ability to create a safe and supportive environment for self-reflection and personal growth is truly commendable.

He has clearly put in a lot of work to expand his own understanding and has developed the skills to help others do the same. Being around him was a delight, and his presence alone encouraged me to open up and explore my own inner thoughts and emotions.

I highly recommend Murray to anyone seeking guidance, support, or simply a warm and understanding presence. He is not only a genuinely nice person to be around, but he also possesses the knowledge and skills to help you navigate through your own mind and achieve personal growth. Weeks after our encounter, I still feel energized and inspired by the experience, and I am grateful for the positive impact Murray had on me.

Donovan R (ctd)

What struck me the most about Murray was his ability to ask the right questions at the right time.

He has a genuine curiosity about people and a deep understanding of human emotions. It became clear that Murray was not only an empathetic individual but also someone who had actively worked on developing his own emotional intelligence.

Spending time with Murray was a rewarding and enlightening experience. He was genuinely interested in helping others and had a natural talent for guiding people through their own minds.

We delved into a meditation session focused on addressing some of my limiting beliefs, and the results were astounding. During the meditation, I could feel those beliefs shrinking, and afterward, I felt an incredible sense of energy and

rejuvenation.

Babette

I recently had the privilege of experiencing Murray's profound

meditative and therapeutic offerings.

Words alone cannot capture the essence of the presence and depth of their impact on my inner being. He is not merely a guide or facilitator, but an embodiment of a pure, kind-hearted soul that

radiates love, compassion, and wisdom.

From the moment I stepped into his presence, I could sense a transformative energy enveloping. It is as if he possesses an innate ability to unlock the hidden chambers of the heart and the path towards inner peace and self-awareness.

In this chaotic world, finding someone who embodies such purity and kindness is a rare gem. His selfless dedication to helping others is truly inspiring and uplifting, and his genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives is such an inspiration!

If you are seeking solace, transformation, or simply a deeper connection with yourself, I wholeheartedly recommend connecting with Murray. I am grateful for the opportunity to have crossed paths with him.

NAYARA

Murray, I just want to say how grateful I am to you da Everything you told me I kept in my heart and it has changed my life every day so I want to say that I am very grateful to

Jenelle

The amount of gratitude and love I have for this man for always giving me perspective while feeling safe enough to be vulnerable and share could never have a price tag.

Thank you

Olga

Murray's technique creates a safe, nonjudgmental space from where I can speak freely and openly about my traumas. I felt guided, held and cared for all the way through the process. I knew that the work had to be done by me and he was guiding me through it with knowledge and compassion. He's a multi-talented guide with a variety of tools at hand, but in his sessions, the main tool he uses is his heart.

Humble, knowledgeable, compassionate and creative.
